Late one night a woman is writing in her journal.

I nearly died when that building blew up and I lost Lee's signal. What was I supposed to tell Billy. Worse, how was I going to tell Amanda when we found her.

Everyone knows that they are in love each other. If I didn't know it before this case, I definitely know it now.

Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to have what they do. In the mean time I'll simply wait and wonder where their relationship will take them. I don‚t think it'll be anytime soon, but hopefully they will trust us enough to let us in on their happiness.

Francine put her pen down and rubbed her neck. The look that Lee had given her after he surprised her in her car still haunted her a bit. In all the years that she had known him, he never looked that scared or lost. He hadn't said much, yet his silence spoke volumes. She put the book away, turned out the light, and waited for the sound of the gentle rain to lull her to sleep.
